HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Seniors:
You should have applications in to your post-secondary schools of choice by now. If not, don't delay any longer. Also, remember as you apply, you must request from your guidance office that your transcript be sent to the schools with which you are applying.
NOW: Get a pin # for yourself and your parents/guardians for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov . Online application completion and submission is the way to go. Log on January 1, 2008 to complete and submit your information, as government funding is granted on a first come, first served basis. You will not receive any federal or state funding without completing this important step.
Be sure to check the guidance office for local scholarship applications. Also, remember www.fastweb.com . Seek out for yourself (don't depend on others) funding for your training as it is readily available.

The State of Tennessee provides twelve summer programs for gifted and talented high school students. These programs provide challenging and intensive learning experiences in these disciplines: Arts, Humanities, International Studies, Engineering, Science, Prospective Teachers, Scientific Exploration of Tennessee Heritage, Information Technology Leadership, and Agricultural Science. Three new programs beginning in 2008 are Computational Physics, Emerging Technologies, and Scientific Models and Data Analysis.

AIMING FOR EXCELLENCE
A team of parents, teachers, community members, and administration are taking a serious look at our educational program for gifted students. This evaluation will help us determine our achievements and set goals for the future. Gifted program standards of both the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and Tennessee Association for Gifted (TAG) are being used as guidelines.
